Alone at nights

Dragonflies, photo at   http://tibetanbowlhealing.blogspot.gr/

It hurts to lay alone at nights
An empty vessel echoing God's conspiracy
Searching always for the stollen life
Feeling the blossoming of an ancient sin
I was once an archer
I was a rose
Maybe a drop of rain
A leaf
A slave in love with the master
A grain of salt
A prism of divine mockery
Over my mortal self
I was, There
Then
A dying star watched me being born
It marked my coming
It will still mark my going
With dust and bitter seeds of light
The lines on my palm faint
Day by day am erased
Like an unspoken word upon the sand
Washed away by the immortal ocean
Am weary
Tired of my self
Old
Expanded and yet so small
Fitting everywhere and nowhere
Between the first dawn
And the last flickering of a butterfly's wing
Eating out the blue of my soul
Alone
at nights

  1. It is hard to feel so alone - especially when you are used to someone being there. Lovely poem, Yiota - sensual without being explicit.

Fitting everywhere and nowhere...esp. that part made me swallow hard...that's a tough feeling...lots of tight emotions in this..

  5. wow...felt verse....really like this part...

A dying star watched me being born
    It marked my coming
It will still mark my going
With dust and bitter seeds of light

it added a bit of magic to the verse...there is hard feelings in this...the struggle comes through well and we feel it, as i think many have struggled through it themselves...

  6. It's the way I feel lately, leads me to meditate a lot on this. Agony is here, sometimes more painful than others. Thank you for pointing out the struggle point of view :)

  7. The sadness in this poem is palpable. I understand these feelings of aloneness, as I have felt them sometimes as well. Definitely painful while they last.

  9. Yes, these feeling often surface in the dark hours of the night.... I think it helps to know you're not alone in those feelings. This is sorrowful, beautiful, poignant.

  10. Hear, always at the dark of night
the monsters that you have to fight
    with daylight they evaporate
    and solace can reverberate

    Nice poetry and writing.
